I knew him before he ...My doctor is an old friend. I knew him before he went to med school. Before med school he was an activist, fighting the good fight. As a doctor he does the same, working with the needle exchange programs, rolling a school bus converted into a clinic into the park on sundays to take care of the homeless. <br /><br />He's a good guy, and jewish. He'd ignored his birthright until somebody identified him as such and so decided if he was going to be labeled as jewish he might as well be. He goes to temple, reads the torah, sees god as an abstract experience of being in the universe, and considers himself a zionist in that everybody wants their place in the sun. <br /><br />But regarding the way israel and the palestinians behave he says they deserve each other. They've lost the good in their religions and favor the worst in humanity. He's a good guy, and jewish. And i imagine he has a palestinian counterpart.
