Sitting in the dentist's office waiting to get a tooth pulled yesterday, I read that memoirs were the most popular strain of books these days. I have no idea whether that is true or not.
But I wonder to what extent our difficult economic times might inspire such a thing.
Maybe when we don't know or are displeased by where we are, we resort to where we imagine we have been ... and therefore might be.
The same might be said for good economic times, I suppose: When you don't know where you are -- or even when you imagine you do -- you look elsewhere ... and thus are blinded to where you are.
