making muffins

Today, for the first time in my life, I made muffins -- cranberry, raisin, pecan-nut muffins.

It wasn't bad for a first try, though I did forget to buy an orange and grate some of the rind into the mix... and the rest of the family seems pretty dead set against nuts.

Some part of me is quite pleased to have done something never done before, however insignificant.

And how does any moment of the day differ from the first time making muffins? Brand new. Never tried before.

The pleasure is there for the asking, I imagine.
