For those with any interest, there is now a site with various offerings from Kyudo Nakagawa Roshi. There is an mp3 of a talk (with transcript), an interview, and a transcript of a teisho. None of this would have been possible without the help of Kobutsu Malone and Mushin Frank LoCicero. I am grateful for all the help in making the site possible. I'm biased: Kyudo was my teacher.

Thank you for letting us know about Kyudo Roshi's talks. It was a pleasure to hear him again!

Are you the Xaro mauri that studied in London in the 70s? It's because I lost track of her and I'd like to keep in touch. Montse
DeleteI worked closely with Kyudo Nakagawa Roshi, whom I and other zen students called Doshi.
ReplyDeleteI was resident for nearly 3 years in London Zen Centre, Camden london UK.
Doshi used to come over from Israel in the summer and I as resident worked closely with him, mainly sitting in the kitchen, smoking and laughing as he told tales.I learnt much from him, mainly how a natural human being is....
He was a tiger in Zazen, Sesshin and Dokusan.
I also had the good fortune to work closely with Sochu Suzuki Roshi, he loved coming to London, where he said he did not have to dress up like a "wedding cake" as in Ryutakuji.
One thing is that Sochu talked quite a lot about being in the Pacific War as a soldier, mainly funny stories.
Any way hope this vaguely interesting,
I am still dragging the Corpse around after 40+ years of Zen practice.
