surprise! surprise!

It doesn't look much better in print than it did on my computer, but I didn't learn until today that a short opinion piece I had written in haste had indeed been published the day after I sent it in. Because the newspaper seems to have a habit of not acknowledging submissions, I just assumed it had been 86'ed, licked my wounds and forgot about it.

Then, three days after it appeared, a couple of friends on the peace picket line teased me about it today. Now, once again, I am forced to revisit its flaws.

Can't win for losing. :)
