How much energy is expended on "covering your ass?"

I don't know, but I imagine that if I took all the time I had spent covering my ass in one way or another and put it to other uses, I might have accomplished quite a lot.

And if you multiply my own experience by all those who have similarly exercised the CYA option ... wowsers. The situations in which to exercise this option are endless ... endless ... endless.

Think about it: All those people running around covering their asses when all the time what they were covering were just asses ...

And everybody's got one.

Is there some need for being one as well?
