Strange to think:
Everyone is already infallible and yet their energies are frequently applied in an effort to get others to agree that they are infallible ... which, ipso facto, makes them fallible.
And, as a matter of curiosity:
Would infallibility, assuming it existed, be a blessing or a curse?
Or fallibility either, for that matter.
I suppose there might be people who find this kind of stuff thought provoking and useful.
ReplyDeleteI think its so deeply dumb it can pass for profundity.
But even as I write I just know that " dumbness" and " profundity " are going to be worked into more self regarding slogans.
You are clearly on to a winning formula.
I dont know whether to feel admiration or indignation.
Hiding behind the cloak of anonymity, it is lazy and easy to lob useless criticism and subjective opinions at someone. It seems that some people derive some sort of self-righteous satisfaction and feelings of superiority from this cowardly activity. I wish I could understand the weakness that compels one to do this and also the hypocrisy of taking the time and effort to post condemnations on someone's blog. Don't read it!!! Simple!
ReplyDeleteBTW, my real name is Julia Reynolds. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Julia. Clearly you have a need to accept anything that appears superficially authoritative, and the combination of " just folks " whimsy and not saying anything of any actual substance, with faux profundity, is a sure thing.
ReplyDeleteWhole careers have been built on it.
The author should have been a politician.
Yours Anonymously..
But you are correct.
DeleteAdding extra methane into a fart-fest in order to vex the fankids is no way for a grown up to behave.
So I will stick to sniggering from the peanut gallery at the sheer inanity of it all.

I love myself
ReplyDeleteI think I'm grand.
I go to the movies
And hold my hand.
I put my arm
Around my waist
And when I'm fresh,
I slap my face

Gosh what a reposte . I am quite undone and all of a flutter.
DeleteIs this what is seen as witty banter in the world of dudes who have themselves snapped dresses as Zen masters in order to denounce the very idea of Zen masters ?
Or is this merely another outbreak of itchy teeth ?
I sense someone who under their "humble sage" act takes themselves VERY seriously indeed.
Probably because only six or seven other people do.
Anon.

ReplyDeleteWow! Talk about faux profundity!!! Oh the irony...
Thanks for the belly laugh, oh venerable one.
Belly laugh ?
DeleteVery unconvincing. Your teeth are showing.
But enough of this self indulgence and wallowing around in twee Zen-lite word play. I must away.
