pope rounds up allies

The Roman Catholic Pope, Benedict XVI, is rounding up allies in his battle against the advances of gay marriage in the West. Other churches and other faiths are being recruited.
"There is no denying the crisis that threatens it (the family) to its foundations - especially in the Western world."
The family had to be protected because it was "the authentic setting in which to hand on the blueprint of human existence", he added.
Especially as it relates to human activity, I can barely begin to list the number of ways in which I disagree with the word "authentic."

"Arrogant" and "unpinned from reality" are two of the nicer ways I can refer to it ... though the less-even-tempered "asshole" whispers insistently from the back of my mind.

  1. Why is a group of supposedly celibate men telling the world how to raise families?
