WTF?!In Virginia, a Christian woman who was instrumental in finding a burial site for one of the young men apparently responsible for the April 15 bombing of the Boston Marathon has been deluged with critiques.
Tsarnaev, 26, was quietly buried Thursday at a small Islamic cemetery in rural Caroline County. His body had remained at a Worcester, Mass., funeral parlor since he was killed April 19 in a gunfight with police, days after the bombings that killed three and injured more than 260 in downtown Boston. Cemeteries in Massachusetts and several other states refused to accept the remains. With costs to protect the funeral home mounting, Worcester police appealed for help finding a place to bury Tsarnaev.Martha Mullen was part of an interfaith effort to bury the body of a man who excited a lot of distaste, even in death. Christians could not find room in their hearts. Muslims were not much better. Both maintain a belief in a god whose love is embracing.
Nothing like making up god as you go along, telling him/her/it what to think even if he/she/it doesn't think it. I see nothing unusual in such fabrications, but I am not very good about choking down the unwillingness or inability to reflect.
If people are unwilling to take their own faith seriously, why should I?
