Israel, as usual, has its own very good reasons. The strike allegedly targeted a munitions site from which ground-to-ground missiles could be shipped to Hezbollah, an enemy of Israel. The missiles threatened to be a game-changer in the favorable balance of power that Israel would like to maintain. It was not clear if Israelis crossed into Syrian air space in order to make the attack.
Israel has its own good reasons.
The U.S. is Israel's lock-step friend.
But if Syria decides not to swallow Israel's own good reasons and if it decides to strike back against what it considers aggression on its soil, what is a lock-step friend to do?
It's hard to imagine that American coffin-makers are not licking their chops.
-- In Boston, meanwhile, a funeral home is having a hard time finding a cemetery that will accept the body of one of the alleged Boston Marathon (April 15) bombers.
"My problem here is trying to find a gravesite. A lot of people don't want to do it. They don't want to be involved with this," said Stefan, who said dozens of protesters gathered outside his funeral home, upset with his decision to handle the service. "I keep bringing up the point of Lee Harvey Oswald, Timothy McVeigh or Ted Bundy. Somebody had to do those, too."
