And, even as the latest outcry for gun control sinks back into impotence,
here is news that the first computer-generated firearm has been successfully fired in (where else?) Texas. Made almost entirely of plastic (only the firing pin is metal), the weapon was made with a 3D printer.
The idea is that as the printers become cheaper, instead of buying goods
from shops, consumers will instead be able to download designs and
print out the items at home.
Peaceable or violent, such manufactured goods are not cheap at present.
But over time ...?
