the allure of the temple

If what you seek is agreement and relief, the temple is not the place to go.
If what you seek is wonder and bliss, the temple is not the place to go.
If what you seek is explanation and meaning, the temple is not the place to go.
If what you seek is courage and love, the temple is not the place to go.
If what you seek is kinship and kindness, the temple is not the place to go.
If what you seek is an end or beginning of seeking, the temple is not the place to go.

For all of these reasons and more like them -- seriously, the temple is not the place to go.

Go anyway.

  1. Felt kinda subdued today with the minimalist's respect, as a couple of issues that had kept me in a headache came to a logical point today as the local prime minister spoke on TV at a National Day Rally Speech. He told about how in some South European countries up to 50% of young adults may be structurally unemployed. And he changed the focus to China where the Chinese economy is said to be producing 7,000,000 graduates per year which is 140% of our Singaporean national population. These are information, how I can use them, seriously, I thought I'll go to a temple yet at 9 pm GMT+8 I recalled your blog. It's open 24/7.

Years ago when I was at this blog, it was because I disagreed with something. I was barely sure what was it I disagreed with, yet deep down within myself I sensed that elusive something that Gautama knew as Dukkha. It wasn't about agreeing that there was dukkha, it simply was, dukkha. When I sat down, it was there. When I stood up, it was there. When I walked, it was there. When I lied on a bed, it was there. Dukkha.

Something came in and said that's gravity, gravitational forces at work, and there's one particular natural force that is 9.81 m^2/s that is directed downwards. They say that it's this downward force that keeps us grounded, there are three simple laws, instead of four noble truths that the Buddha taught, these three simple laws are:
    1. There is action and reaction.
    2. I forgot. Let's wiki it "The acceleration of a body is directly proportional to, and in the same direction as, the net force acting on the body, and inversely proportional to its mass....

:) Oh goodness why is the American Newton's Laws so similar to the British Newton's Laws, yet it's a different bunch of words, oh goodness.

    I'm lost. I'm confused.
