We should be grateful for John Oliver, his production team and HBO.
Oliver has an advantage over straight news. He has a unique set going for him: an informal setting in which to deliver perceptive analysis with an appealing sense humor.
Other news sources actually have deeper and / or broader analysis. To be fair, other comics have good insights, too.
