Among the imponderables I am unlikely to iron out before my death is this: Is it true, as some niggling part of me insists, that firefighters and shrinks have disproportionately more facial hair by ratio than the population at large?What would I know if I knew the answer? Nothing, perhaps, but the niggling might abate.
Freud had a beard. But firefighters not so much.
