If only U.S. President Donald Trump's gaffs were merely ignorant instead of both ignorant and unkind.
The problem is that just about the time anyone begins to laugh, something seriously lie-based or cruel raises its head.... eg:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump’s comment on Friday that he might pardon boxing legend Muhammad Ali drew a prompt response from the late heavyweight champion’s estate: thanks but no thanks.Perhaps as a nation the U.S. could dedicate one day this summer for a laugh-in ... huge throngs of people simply laughing at the name and implications of "Donald Trump."
“We appreciate President Trump’s sentiment, but a pardon is unnecessary. The U.S. Supreme Court overturned the conviction of Muhammad Ali in a unanimous decision in 1971. There is no conviction from which a pardon is needed,” said Ron Tweel, a lawyer for the boxer’s estate and his widow, Lonnie.
Before leaving to attend the Group of Seven summit in Canada, Trump told reporters he was considering pardoning some 3,000 people, including Ali, who died in 2016.

The United Nations has urged Washington to immediately halt its controversial practice of separating asylum-seeking Central American children from their parents at the southern border.
The UN human rights office said it was deeply concerned over the zero tolerance policy introduced by the Trump administration to deter illegal immigration.
We have careful breeding programs for livestock, to promote the best bloodlines. But people are allowed to breed willy nilly, without thought of consequence. Our population is exploding and by and large producing a very high percentage or morons. We're certainly producing more babies than we can educate.
ReplyDeleteOf course eugenics is a bad word, associated with the master race ambitions of Adolph. But animal husbandry was one of if not the earliest science and so respected as to be enforced for blue blood royalty to the point of oops, hemophilia, madness, etc.
So we now have a moron in the White House, elected and supported by fellow moron's. And trying to correct their misinformations is a miserable experience of being insulted and shouted down. We are urged to show them a compassion they will not show us. Oh well.
Trump Normalized?
ReplyDeleteNot really. Depends where one gets one’s news. Depends on whether one applies critical thinking.
Moron rule?
Not wrong just too simplistic
1. Trump lost the popular vote by ~3 million votes.
2. Those with power who support Trump aren’t morons.
"Those with power who support Trump aren’t morons."
ReplyDelete...Except when, like the rest of us, they are.
