mothers and fathers

The old doggerel asserts itself:

A daughter's a daughter
Until she's a wife.
A woman's a mother
The rest of her life.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no parallel aphorism for a father.

Or maybe, "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach" will do?
