witchcraft

.
A Lebanese man accused of witchcraft for making predictions on TV will not be beheaded today.

That's the good news.

The bad news is that no one knows whether or when the beheading will actually take place.

Even those who are wise enough not to make predictions share this Lebanese man's uncertainty, I imagine.

Witchcraft is something we all do best. Is it any wonder that we face an uncertain -- yet certifiable -- fate?

  1. That reminds me of the old paradox, of a man who is told on Sunday that he will be executed before next Sunday, but he won't know the day. He can't be executed on Saturday, because then he will know the day. And so for the same reason he can't be executed on Friday, Thursday, Wednesday, etc.
