The "Dragon King" married his 21-year-old girlfriend in Bhutan Thursday.
The story, for reasons I can't fathom, brought on a kind of woo-hoo delight from where I'm sitting. Much more interesting and compelling than the British royal fanfare. Perhaps it grabs my attention because the Dragon King is educated and loves Elvis and mingles with the crowds to the consternation of his security detail.
... The young king never misses the chance to mix with people at public events, playing barefoot soccer with schoolchildren or hugging and comforting an old woman so overcome at seeing him that she burst into tears.
Even if it's contrived and leaves much of the backstory untold, still there is something pleasing about wishing others -- even high-profile 'others' -- well and rooting for some small success.
.
I love this ....
