 True, there is 'serious' news out there to be ingested, but then, oh well, here are some tailings that grabbed my eye:

Liger mom carries liliger offspring

-- Sometimes it's hard to tell the players without a scorecard, genetically speaking. A "liger," it seems, is a cross between a lion and a tiger. A "liliger" is "a big cat breed where the father is a lion and the mother is a lion-tiger hybrid, called a liger."

The first liliger was born in the [Novosibirsk] zoo last year and now there's a second litter of three, all of them females.

I wonder if lions and tigers have Neo-Nazi or KKK or other frothing sects that inveigh against the 'mongrelization' of the race.

-- Passed along in email today was a news story about an exorcism that went awry. It seems that the 31-year-old woman who was linked to a poltergeist that was running around breaking dishes and biting people had a heart attack during the procedure. She's OK now, apparently. No word on the poltergeist.

-- North Korean defectors who claim that Kim Jong-Un distributed copies of Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf" on his birthday have been denounced by North Korea as "human scum" who deserve to be killed. Maybe I'm wrong, but the dictatorial dysfunction of North Korea hardly needs to have Adolf Hitler added to its political mix. Whether the story is true or not ... meh.?
