If anyone reading here has any tips, I would be grateful.
This blog is in something called Blogger. The space in which I am typing this post has a tool bar and on that tool bar is an icon that indicates the insertion of a "page break" -- something that allows what follows the insertion of that break to be invisible (and hence less cumbersome) until the reader hits the words "more" or "read more."
Since I have been known to get pretty long-winded, I would like to utilize such a tool ... to spare readers too much space filled with what they could care less about. But I cannot get my page-break function to work. A promised grey line appears when I am typing and hit the icon, but when I "publish," the visible result is just a little extra space between paragraphs ... the point at which I would like "more" or "read more" to appear.
I have tried searching Google and even asked Google (which owns Blogger as I get it) ... but Google has bigger fish to fry and the search led me in unproductive circles.
If anyone has a third-grade (and I mean very step-by-step simple and very oriented towards the computer dummy that I am) explanation of how to get the page-break function to WORK, I really would be grateful.
Looks like you might need to get your hands a bit dirty in the template code, but it seems very easy.
