warm and cold

.
Went Christmas shopping this morning.

The best gift I found was dropping a dollar or two in the tin cans that various street people put out. They were well-bundled against the cold and warm enough to offer some small conversation.

The stores, by contrast, were just full of cold stuff that, with the exception of a small but beautiful-sounding gong, numbed my nerve endings.

Time for a nap.

  2. Yes I am aware of all that ... and still feel better giving it to them than paying for some dust-gathering bauble.

  3. To anyone in Cambridge, Mass., around Harvard Square: If you see Carrie, the Homeless Vegetarian girl who regularly begs there, please give her a dollar, and wish her a Merry Christmas from me. Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
