invisible-r and invisible-r

.
The curious thing about getting older is not so much that you become invisible to others -- that's par for the course -- as that you become invisible-r to yourself. All that ruckus and assertion that was once so sure-fire confirming seems to wander off like some chickadee in the forest ... OK, it checked you out, but now it has other business to attend to.

All of this invisible stuff raises the question of who might see all this dwindling-dwindling-dwindling, but getting older takes the air out of your tires -- who's got the energy for 'sage' reflection? Leave the sagacity to the sages.

  1. There's some misery to aging, but i'm grateful for the loss of vanity.
