My son Ives took me fishing today at a small pond on the outskirts of town, a wonderfully placid place marred only by the trucks loading gravel in the near distance. There was only one pole, but I was happy to sit on the chair and take only an occasional turn. Naturally, since it was my first time out, I was the only person to catch anything ... threw the line out 25-30 feet and reeled in ... a clam of all damned things.
