let me sell you the end of the world
Mexican businessmen and others around the world are licking their chops as the 'end of the world' approaches. D-Day is Friday, Dec. 21, the day on which a 5,125 year-old Mayan calendar marks the end of the "13th bak'tun - an epoch lasting some 400 years - and the beginning of the 14th." There's a lot of money to be made from dearly-held beliefs ... from uplifting spiritual rejuvenation to dismal decimation: If the believers are right, the businessmen are going to look pretty foolish. But then, if the world ends, who will there be left to fool? But if the businessmen are right, well, Christmas is coming, and Christmas and money go together like fish and water.
