Well-known sitar player Ravi Shankar died Tuesday at 92.
I cannot say that sitar music was ever my favorite, but Shankar's 1971 movie "Raga" moved me along in spiritual endeavor, so I say thank you for that.
Here in town, I once shelled out a fair chunk of change to get two tickets to a Shankar concert. I took my then-young daughter so that, perhaps, one day she could say she had seen and heard the best. She was bored stupid and, truth to tell, I didn't much care for the music either. We left early and got an ice cream instead.
Even so ... thank you.
