create with abandon

I was listening to some folk music from the computer last night -- just this song and that from an era when songs told stories and it was not so important that everyone be on-key because this was an expression of experience and community -- and I was delighted. It was just my taste.

But it crossed my mind ... how wonderful it would be to create (music or anything else) with the same wide-open and swept-away surrender and abandon that I felt when being consumed by music I loved.

To give as good as I get.

And the next question into my mind was, "How do you know you aren't already doing that every time you do something ... anything done with attention?"

Just a little more belly-button lint.
