agreement

.
What a peculiar and yet enduring habit it is ... seeking out in person, in books, in crowds, in even our own minds the agreement of others.

And disagreement isn't much different, do you think?

A comfort zone, a known quantity, a place to rest and from which to seek out new and improved dragons to slay. And to allay too much questioning or investigation, we say things like, "human beings are social creatures."

But without going into one of my interminable blithers, I really do think it's worth examining and investigating. Relying on others doesn't really work any more than not-relying on others works.

So what does work? What does provide a peace that doesn't rely on either a hallelujah chorus or a one-way ticket to some dank hermit's cave?

I'm sure you can figure it out.
