child sexual-abuse petition

.
A mother whose brother did not survive sexual abuse has created a petition to President Obama, urging that a federal commission be established to combat organizational child sexual abuse. She is seeking signatures ... and so am I.

The mother, Kate Fitzgerald, a college professor, has indicated in a comment at reform-network.net that she filed the petition in memory of her brother, who did not survive his being sexually abused.

Such a commission would put the U.S. on a footing similar to that of Australia which, when it comes to child sexual abuse (especially by Catholic priests), is pretty much at the forefront of those nations willing to take action on crimes that deserve a legal, rather than canonical, response.

The petition is available here: http://wh.gov/5aAQ.

There are a couple of steps necessary to sign the petition, but I figure if I can figure it out, anyone can.
