upbeat baby boomers

.
A poll suggests that baby boomers, a group of Americans 57-65, seem to be upbeat about getting older.

... Boomers most frequently offered the wisdom and knowledge accumulated over their lives as the best thing about getting older.

I really would be interested in knowing what individuals who expressed such a view might mean. Perhaps some might mean that wisdom is the ability to assess the actual degree of stupidity. But does that ameliorate the stupidity? Or does wisdom mean the ability to see more possibilities, wider horizons? Does it mean an ability to fantasize and believe with less regret?

I don't mean to dissuade anyone from their comfort zone. I just wonder.
