There are good-hearted people the world over who yearn to do good and are willing to put a little or a lot of energy into actualizing that yearning. Really, sometimes it is pretty amazing.
And yet, equally amazing perhaps, is the willingness to screw the pooch and imagine they were or could be doing some good.
Why anyone would make up a bunch of koans blows my mind in view of the koans that are plainly in-your-face all the time.
Shakyamuni Buddha -- the buddha most often credited as the go-to guy of "Buddhism" -- was said to have said: "Do good, refrain from evil and purify this mind."
That's "do" ... never mind the accolades and despair.
