the serenity of dish soap

Does anyone else think that in uncertain times there is a voice that cries out for something as serene as dish soap -- something pleasantly scented and...

Serene as dish soap?

Smoooooth and endlessly consoling.

Christians are going to heaven.

Buddhists speak of enlightenment and Nirvana.

And in the heart of longing hearts, it all is as serene as dish soap.

It doesn't much matter if the uncertainties are little or large ... still, something as serene as dish soap would be wonderful.

Spiritual adventures can be the dish soap to end all dish soaps -- the dish soap that puts a period on all dish-soap sentences.

Perfectly-lubricated, smooth and endlessly serene.

Jeeeesus!

And yet if the best serenity could do were to provide relief ...

Wouldn't that just be another uncertainty to inspire a longing for dish soap?
