spring morning

.
A grey, moist day, today, with occasional showers. Against the grey, as always, the colors of spring gain a collective force. The diffused, even light seems to make it more apparent that the Japanese maple across the street and some spectacular golden tulips 60 feet to the right of the maple are not part of some segmented tableau. The grey enfolds each morning player and provides a stage on which each and all have their lines to say.

  1. I was at the graveyard today to look for my parents' grave. I live in a town of 500.000 in N.Germany and spending almost all my time in town, I somehow missed the colors, the smell and the sound of spring - until this morning. Sparrows and blackbirds stirring up the lush scenery of the most intense yellow, red and white speckled green. A great place to picnic, if it weren't against the regulations of the place.
