-- Good fortune.
It is amazing how much can be accomplished by a roomful of people saying absolutely nothing.
No need to make some spiritual fetish about it. But it is a useful shard of experience.
-- Imagine: For nine months, everyone is nourished and coddled. At the end of that time, each comes forth and the landline of nourishment is cut and is replaced by cell phones and meetings and labeled clothing.
But none of that can erase the whispered longing to return to a time of honest nourishment -- a time when cilantro or Ball Park Franks may be nice, but that doesn't make them necessary or somehow best or most assuring.
There's always the warm fuzzies of belief in a god who has a plan for you personally.
