John Oliver on the purveyors of opioids

Is "revolting" enough of a word?

Oh well, how many bought their way to the front of America's political line by selling booze during Prohibition and building -- naturellement -- Camelot.

  1. While Oliver and friends may have rightfully skewered Greed Freak Richard Sackler and Purdue Pharma., he showed neither understanding nor compassion for the thousands suffering from serious acute or chronic pain.

Oliver is not alone in this. Most others in the media and in various levels of government miss the point as well.

It’s called an Opioid Crisis the focus should be on the Pain Crisis.

We’re not talking about pain that two extra strength Excedrin can cure by the time one wakes from a nap. We’re talking about pain for which there is no good, risk free alternative.
