Passed along in email today was this Dec. 31, 2013, article about a former MSNBC host, Cenk Uygur,
who was urged to tone down his critique of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster of March 11, 2011.
As a commentator, Uygur has said in politer terms, "Get the fuck out of there!"
But his alarms must have been overstated (right?) because "the official [Japanese] government position is that it’s safe." And Washington too was not amused by criticism of those who issued reassuring statements.
Now the fallout is slowly making itself felt in the western United States.
An April 15, 2012, article in The European Union Times addresses the issue of Japan's plan to evacuate 40 million people if things at Fukushima go from bad to worse.
If we ignore it, maybe it will just go away ... or we will.
You can catch Cenk these days on his Youtube channel TYT:
