Giant
African land snails have left environmentalists in a serious dither. The snails consume up to 500 species of plant life and eat plaster walls as a means of augmenting their shells.
With the rainy season due in a little less than two months, the population of snails is expected to explode. A typical snail can produce 1,200 eggs a year.
