This morning, at a far distance, I saw a flight of Canada geese, winging eastward. At first, I could not hear their honking, but after a couple of moments there it was, weak, but audible.
It made me wonder if Canada geese could keep their wonderful, shape-shifting V's if they did not honk. I doubted it, but I wondered.
And perhaps the same is true of people and talking. In silence, there may be a deep communication, but is deep communication the only way to communicate, the only way to form and re-form the social fabric?
Never mind "better" and "worse" -- just wondering.
