peace in our times

Responding to a comment that despaired of the direction the United States was heading in, I wrote yesterday:

Relax ... with any luck, the Department of Homeland Security will join forces with the fundamentalist patriots and we'll soon have a theocracy that will rival Islamic State's most anal-retentive wet dreams. [There will be] Peace and harmony and everyone wearing a mask.

I guess it was tongue-in-cheek, but that's just guessing.
