downside accomplishment

In my high school English class, there was once a student who got a minus-five on a quiz.

Not only had he gotten virtually every fact wrong in his answers ... he had also, according to the teacher, spelled his own name wrong.

Talk about an accomplishment!

  1. Oh the good old days when teachers got away with being bigger jerks than the kids. I guess people still think this way.

It's likely that the student had a learning disability or an emotional problem that resulted in his acting out.
