Like the snake that allegedly fought, constricted and then
ate an alligator
in Australia, a raw cold throttles the day under grey skies.
As I set out the garbage, the cold wrapped itself with deliberate and unremitting calmness around my body and seemed to p-r-e-s-s.
I was, however briefly, consumed.
