ego-tripping

I once had an Internet chum who refused to write the words "I" or "me" or "mine."

It was an effort, I guess, to rein in the attachments and self-centeredness common in an edgy and unhappy lifestyle.

Aside from the written gyrations his discipline demanded, I always marveled at the amount of ego it took to accomplish his task.
