By this time, of course, the official explanation of the demolition of the World Trade Towers on Sept. 11, 2001, has seeped into the national and perhaps international consciousness.
Writ little or large, the attacks were explainably perpetrated by "al Qaida" or the "terrorists" who lived in another country. Even at the time of the demolition, scientific questions -- questions based in reason and science -- were dismissed as conspiracy-nut fomentations: If serious questions were taken seriously, the alternative explanations were too horrific to entertain. The mind -- the same mind that might otherwise be open to rational thought -- refused to pose the questions, let alone try to answer them. Ad hominem dismissals were and remain easier than factual assessments. What the hell -- these questions came from conspiracy-freak wack-jobs and besides, it's all ancient history.
Who knows -- maybe someday someone will take an interest and connect whatever dots rationally deserve connecting. I'm not holding my breath, but today, I received in email this 22-minute video ... and it nudged me ... and so I'm posting it.
