Where a problem threatens to upend a fragile peace, there is one certain solution: Eat it.

The ravenous snakefish is seen as such a danger. "Mice, birds, frogs, other fish, and even AA batteries" have been found inside the fish which is threatening the Potomac River basin in Maryland and Virginia.

Chefs said they have a key weapon on their side - humans' zest for eating up other species to the vanishing point.

Currently, the snakefish is only seen as having the potential to denude its environment. But that potential is enough for some to sound the alarm ... and the solution:

Eat it.
