Could Jose Salvador Alvarenga really have set sail from Mexico in December of 2012 and survived the 13 months at sea that ended last week when he landed 5,500 miles from home in the Marshall Islands?

The Associated Press attempts to sort out the probabilities of such a tale as Alvarenga told.
